Our Story
The Diaspora Outreach Developments Foundation Incorporated (DODFI) was established on June 18th, 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia. As a non-profit organization with a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, DODFI aims to raise funds and foster financial support for various institutions and projects. In July 2023, DODFI further expanded its reach by registering as an international NGO in Kenya.
The foundation was founded by three individuals: Bishop Donald Kisaka Mwawasi, Dr. Wilson Ogore Endege, and Professor Philliph Masila Mutisya. DODFI originated from the establishment of the Diaspora University Town (DUT) in Voi, Kenya, which required financial backing for its development.
The primary objective of DODFI is to create a “Global Foundation” that provides financial resources to facilitate funding and support for institutions. Specifically, DODFI focuses on funding projects, programs, products, and services (PPPS, CLM©®) that promote innovation, entrepreneurship, educational advancement, and economic development. By fostering sustainable social capital throughout the African Diaspora, DODFI aims to establish collaborative partnerships between Diaspora University Town, other organizations, and institutions in Africa and the African Diaspora. Through these partnerships, DODFI provides much-needed funding and resources for sustainable community development.
DODFI places special emphasis on promoting entrepreneurship, research, innovation, and collaboration to bridge the gaps in education, economic opportunities, and entrepreneurial innovation. The foundation’s strategic plan involves leveraging the support of private and public organizations, including philanthropic individuals and institutions. By harnessing the collective efforts of these entities, DODFI strives to support educational innovation, economic development, cultural and social justice, and peace capacity building. The strategic plan is conceptualized in a Comm-University Model (Promoting Community-Unity and the Universe=University).
Overall, DODFI is committed to driving positive change by empowering communities, facilitating sustainable development, and fostering opportunities for growth and advancement within Africa and the African Diaspora.
