Overexploitation of marine and freshwater resources, such as overfishing, illegal fishing, and destructive fishing practices, threaten the health and productivity of marine and freshwater ecosystems and the livelihoods of coastal communities. Use ocean water and fresh resources to develop sustainable aquaculture fishery projects that support communities that live in these regions. The goal is to remedy the depletion of fish from the oceans and lakes.
Overview: The vast expanse of our oceans holds promise and peril. As waves lap against the shores of coastal communities, a delicate balance teeters. Overfishing, illegal practices, and ecological degradation threaten marine and freshwater ecosystems. But hope glimmers—a beacon named DODFI.
In the azure embrace of oceans and lakes, livelihoods hang in the balance. Coastal communities, their nets cast wide, grapple with depleted fish stocks. The very waters that sustain them now cry out for restoration.

To live is to choose. But to choose well, you must know who you are and what you stand for, where you want to go and why you want to get there.
